Why this library

Built by practitioners, not commentators

AI influence is a new discipline with very little practical, end-to-end guidance. We built the library we wished existed when we started.

Generative Engine Optimization and AI influence management are barely three years old as commercial disciplines. Most public material is either vendor marketing or academic theory, and almost none of it walks a brand team through the full sequence — from auditing current AI visibility to deploying content that actually shifts what ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini recommend. The KHB library is built to close that gap with field-tested playbooks rather than opinion pieces.

Our team brings together practitioners from AI labs, independent research institutions, and global brand consultancies. That mix matters: AI-native engineers understand how models retrieve and weight information, while brand strategists understand how visibility translates into pipeline. Every resource on this page is reviewed by both sides before publication, so the technical claims and the marketing recommendations stay consistent with each other.

Almost everything here is free and requires no registration. We publish four resource types: Whitepapers for deep, methodology-grade reports; Playbooks for step-by-step operational guides; Templates for downloadable, ready-to-use worksheets and audit tools; and Insights for shorter analytical articles on emerging trends. A small number of long-form benchmark reports are reserved for advisory clients and are clearly marked. We add two to three new resources every week, so the library compounds over time.

Template Ready to use

AI Citation Audit Template

A downloadable Excel template for running a structured citation audit across AI models. Ships with 50+ diagnostic queries calibrated for B2B and B2C use cases, automated scoring formulas for visibility and sentiment, a competitor comparison matrix, and a one-click summary dashboard. Drop in your brand and three competitors; the template does the rest.

Together these three resources cover the complete journey: understanding the discipline (whitepaper), building the program (playbook), and measuring baseline performance (template). Most teams start with the GEO whitepaper to align internal language, run the citation audit template to establish a baseline, and then adopt the 12-step playbook to operationalize the work.

Playbooks & Guides

Operational guides for every stage of your AI influence program

Step-by-step playbooks written for practitioners — each one assumes you have limited time and need a defensible plan by Friday.

Playbook · Beginner

Getting Started with GEO

An entry-level guide for marketing teams encountering AI influence for the first time. Defines the vocabulary, explains how AI models differ from search engines, and walks through a first-week diagnostic you can run with zero budget. Ideal for aligning a cross-functional team before committing to a vendor or methodology.

Playbook · Intermediate

The KAIF Methodology Implementation Guide

A field manual for deploying the four-phase KAIF methodology — Knowledge, Authority, Influence, and Future-proofing. Each phase includes sequencing rules, ownership matrix, quality gates, and common failure modes we have observed across 200+ deployments. Read alongside the GEO whitepaper for full context.

Playbook · Advanced

Cross-Border AI Influence Strategy

For brands operating across multiple language markets. Covers model dominance by region (ChatGPT in the US, Doubao in mainland China, Claude in developer communities), translation-vs-localization decisions for AI content, and how to prioritize markets when retrieval behavior differs between geographies.

Playbook · Crisis

AI Crisis Response Playbook

When an AI model misrepresents your brand — citing outdated financials, hallucinating product features, or recommending a competitor — response windows are measured in hours. This playbook covers detection, escalation, model-specific correction pathways, and the content interventions that restore accurate representation within 14 days.

Playbook · Measurement

Measuring AI Influence: KPIs & Metrics

The metrics framework most boards ask for but few teams can deliver. Defines visibility share, citation depth, recommendation share, and AI sentiment as the four primary KPIs, with calculation methods, sample sizes, confidence intervals, and benchmark ranges drawn from 12 industries. Includes board-ready reporting templates.

Each playbook is written to be standalone — you do not need to read them in order. That said, teams building a program from scratch typically progress from Getting Started with GEO through the KAIF Implementation Guide, add the Measurement playbook once they have a baseline, and keep the Crisis Response playbook on standby for the inevitable moment a model drifts. Cross-border brands layer in the regional strategy guide once domestic visibility is stable.

Impact Study

AI Hallucination Impact on Brands

A first-of-its-kind quantification of brand harm from AI hallucinations. Tracks 90 incidents across 18 months, classifies impact severity, and proposes a taxonomy of hallucination types — from fabricated executive quotes to nonexistent product features — with response protocols for each.

Research reports are published quarterly and follow a transparent methodology — every study lists its prompt corpus, model versions, sampling window, and statistical approach. The full methodology appendix is downloadable alongside each report. We treat reproducibility as a baseline requirement: any reader should be able to rerun a study's core claims with their own brand and arrive at comparable directional results, even if absolute numbers differ.

FAQ

Common questions about the resource library

Short answers to the questions we hear most often. If yours is not here, email resources@khb.com.

Are all resources really free?

Yes. Every playbook, template, and insight article on this page is free to download and read. A small number of long-form benchmark reports are reserved for advisory clients, and those are clearly marked with an Advisory tag. The vast majority of our library — including all playbooks and templates — requires no payment and no registration. We treat the library as a public good: the more brand teams understand AI influence, the more demand there is for our advisory work, so giving away the playbook is good business, not charity.

Do I need to register to download?

No registration is required for standard downloads. Playbooks, templates, and insight articles are direct downloads — click the link and the file arrives. If you subscribe to the monthly AI Influence Briefing, you only share your email address for newsletter delivery, and it is never used for unsolicited sales outreach. We have all been on the receiving end of aggressive B2B sequences and we are not interested in being that company.

How often are new resources added?

We publish two to three new resources every week, alternating between playbooks, insight articles, and templates. Benchmark reports are published quarterly, in alignment with our research cadence. Subscribers to the monthly briefing receive an advance preview of upcoming releases during the first week of each month, so they can plan internal readouts and stakeholder briefings before resources go public.

Can I republish KHB content on my blog?

You may quote up to 100 words of any resource with attribution and a do-follow link back to the original. Full republication, including translations and adaptations, requires written permission from KHB Group. Reach out via info@khb.com with your request, audience size, and intended use — we approve most reasonable requests within two business days.

Do you offer resources in other languages?

Yes. Our flagship resources are published in both English and Traditional Chinese (zh-HK). Simplified Chinese versions of selected whitepapers are available for enterprise clients on request. We are expanding into Japanese and Korean throughout 2026 as AI model coverage in those languages matures — reach out if your team would benefit from early access to localized editions.
